Where is the promised parousia?

Scoffers in their scoffing have come in these last days
- worldly people,
driven by deep distorted desire, divisive, devoid of the Spirit.

Jesus said
“You are not permitted to know the times or periods
that the Father has set by his own authority.
But you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,
and you will be my witnesses ...
to the farthest parts of the earth.”

After this,
he was lifted up while they were watching,
and a cloud hid him from their sight.
They were still staring into the sky while he was going,
when suddenly two men in white clothing stood near them
and said,
"Men of Galilee,
why do you stand here looking up into the sky?
This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven
will come back …"

It seems many people are being caught up in this Camping craze (see what I did there - "rapture" means "caught up"). If not Raptured, people will find their phony faith ruptured.

In regard to Harold Camping's prediction of the Parousia (predicated on his piss-poor hermeneutical approach): it takes wisdom to critize without mocking.
Come Sunday, my criticism shall turn to ridicule (for Camping's ridiculous hermeneutics are deserving of just that!), but for now I do not want to appear in agreement with those scoffers who are using this fiasco for the purpose of denigrating the promise of Christ's parousia.
